10th ETNOFILm Festival

Over the history the ethnographic filmmakers have adopted different cognitive approaches towards the realities and the cultures. Based on his researches, Francesco Marano distinguishes three main poetics expressed by ethnographic filmmakers: objectifying, subjectivated and enactive. Each poetic is the outcome of a specific relation between the filmmaker/camera and the reality. The presentation will be a combination of theoretical ideas and film excerpts.
